Macey and I spent the 4th of July up in Wilsonville with my friend Jamie, and her two daughters, Brooke and Ava. Jamie's neighborhood puts on an annual kids' parade in the afternoon. To prepare for this event, the kids decorate their bikes or scooters to show their spirit. Macey decorated Bunny, Blankie, and Baby so they could come along too. After the parade we went for a swim, barbecued Gardenburger's, and made fruit- ka-bobs. Rather than fight the traffic at a public fireworks display we drove around the neighborhood looking for a good one, and then asked to intrude. By using our charm, and the cute smiles of our kids, we ended up with a front row seat. That didn't last long. Macey sat plugging her ears and Ava asked to watch from the car! Fireworks were not a hit! But a fun time was had by all.

I love how everyone, including blanket, bunny and baby had to come along!
